Design Approach & Process
From early concept stages, I worked on shaping the overall experience with a focus on clarity and ease of use. I translated initial ideas into wireframes and prototypes, using them to explore interaction patterns and align with cross-functional partners. Iteration was a constant throughout the process, with feedback from engineering and product helping refine both the experience and feasibility of different solutions.
Interaction Design
I focused on making Remote Play feel simple and reliable. This meant designing flows that reduced friction when starting and managing sessions, and making sure system feedback—like connection quality or latency—was clear and easy to understand. I also thought through edge cases, especially around unstable network conditions, to make sure the experience still felt predictable.
Visual Design
On the visual side, I worked on adapting PlayStation’s design language to a dedicated handheld device. This included refining layout, typography, and component behavior to create something that felt cohesive and easy to navigate on a smaller screen. I also contributed to building out reusable patterns to keep the UI consistent as the product evolved.
Collaboration
I worked closely with engineers and product managers throughout development, balancing user needs with technical constraints. A lot of the work involved back-and-forth—reviewing builds, adjusting designs, and making small decisions that added up to a more polished final product.
Concept Exploration - Cloud Game Streaming
In parallel, I explored early ideas for where the product could go next, including concepts around cloud streaming and expanding the feature set beyond Remote Play. These were more exploratory, but helped start conversations about the future direction of the device.
